Toscano Kale is a unique, highly savoyed (heavily blistered), dinosaur variety featuring tender, ultra dark green leaves with a notably soft texture. Both heat and cold tolerant, Toscano is well suited for all growing climates. Best harvested in baby leaf form for the most desirable flavor profile. This well loved Italian heirloom dates back to the 18th century, and has been made popular as an essential ingredient of caldo verde (green broth) soup. As with all kale, Toscano's sweetness in flavor will intensify with frost exposure. Also known as black Tuscan kale, black cabbage, and black palm. 55 days. Packet: 100 seeds.
