Star of David Okra is an heirloom Israeli variety that produces thick, stocky, deeply grooved pods that resemble a 6 pointed "star" when sliced. Towering 8' to 10' foot tall, plants grow on a single un-branched stalk. Pods are most tender and flavorful when harvested at a young growth stage and taste similar to eggplant. The superb deep green color is kissed with purple tones on the pod ribbing which give this variety a very attractive appearance. While excellent for canning, pickling and relishes, fried okra remains the most popular dish to prepare. 66 days. Packet: 50 seeds.
