Scabiosa hybrida Beaujolais Bonnets is commonly known as Pincushion Flower. Utterly divine, domed flower heads have delicate, lace-like ruffled individual outer petals in mass. The dark, ruffled petals are dotted with white stamens and have a stunning ombre color effect. The center of the dome is a rich merlot burgundy color fading to lighter shades, then to white at the outer edges of fully open petals. This captivating beauty is a first year flowering perennial in zones 4-10 and is often grown as a cold hardy annual by cut flower production growers. In typical Scabiosa fashion, you can expect darling seed heads to emerge atop the wiry stems once the flowers have expired. Healthy, easy to grow 2' foot plants produce an abundance of sweetly scented blooms that are super attractants for friendly pollinators such as butterflies, bees and moths. A cherished cut garden favorite. Packet: 50 seeds.
