Poppy Shirley Single Mix, commonly known as Old Fashioned Mix or In Flander's Fields, is a specialty crop developed as a subspecies of the Red Poppy. Well formed, mounded base plants send up wiry stems with whimsical, crinkled papery petaled blooms that appear to float in the breeze. This delightful single petal variety is a colorful mix of pink, red and white shades and makes a charming garden color focus when planted in mass. Shirley Poppies are sun loving and prefer rich well drained soil. An excellent early season bloomer, this variety can be planted in fall to over winter or in early spring before other crops get underway for the season. A cut flower favorite when properly treated with post harvest protocol. Packet: approx. 500 seeds.
