Agastache

Agastache is a flowering perennial plant from the Hyssop family that produces pollinator attracting spikes, comprised of clustered flowers, that bloom in a variety of delightful pastels like lilac, pink, rosy-mauve, purple, orange and white. Notably easy to grow, Agastache is also a very easy keeper and fairly maintenance free once established. Known to be drought tolerant once established and able to grow in almost all soil types, this plant makes our list of top choices for its ability to remain green and flower regularly in spite of lack of water. The perfect choice to create low maintenance landscapes with vibrant color. The green leaves resemble catmint and typically have heavy veining. Interestingly, the flower spikes begin flowering from the top down instead of from the bottom - opposite of most spire-type flowers. Most varieties will bloom from early summer through the fall frost.
