Echinacea purpurea Pow Wow White, commonly known as Coneflower, is a remarkable white variety that produces 3" to 4" inch, pure white daisy shaped blooms with reflexed petals and contrasting lime-yellow raised center eyes. Pow Wow White is a garden super-producer, continuously pumping out the blooms from early summer all the way through the first frost of fall. Well formed bushes send up flowers on strong, sturdy stems that do not require deadheading to continue blooming. This winter hardy, first year flowering, herbaceous perennial is hardy to zone 3. Echinacea is an excellent, hassle free, flowering landscape plant that melds manicured garden areas with native landscapes like meadows, open field areas or forest borders. Plants grow 18" to 24" inches tall. Echinacea flowers and leaves are edible and make a wonderful garnish to salads, desserts and drinks. In addition to being grown as a cut flower, used both fresh and dried, Echinacea is a staple crop for herbal remedies, tinctures, salves and naturopathic medicines. A pollinator friendly variety and excellent source of cold season seeds for small birds if the spent flower cones are left to overwinter. Packet: 25 seeds
