Cortaderia selloana Pampas Grass Mix features several types of Pampas Grass varieties well suited for ornamental plantings. This collection will produce soaring stalks averaging 4' to 10' feet tall topped with swoon worthy, fluffy white, pink and rose plumes blooming starting in early summer to fall each year. Plants grow in clumps with blade-type leaves that grow 36" to 60" inches tall when fully mature. This mix is an excellent option for cut flower growers who want a sampling of several varieties of this highly sought after floral ingredient. Pampas Grass is easy to grow, low maintenance and is best treated as a tender perennial in zones 3 to 5, and as a hardy perennial in zones 6 to 10. Pampas plants make an excellent, architecturally interesting garden screen and the leaves remain evergreen in warmer zones. Instead of cutting back the foliage each fall, wait until the following spring to prune back, this will spur on healthy new growth. Plants can resist momentary dryness, with the wind and cold (up to -4°F), but the cold mixed with moisture can be fatal for these plants. Make sure to wear gloves and long sleeves when pruning and harvesting the plumes as the leaf blades can be quite sharp! UltraClean seed. Packet: 50 seeds.
