Summer Crisp Lettuce

Summer Crisp Lettuce, Also known as Batavia or French Crisp are a by far one of the most popular varieties to grow. The delicious sweet flavor (not bitter) in combination with the crunchy texture make Summer Crisp lettuce an outstanding choice to grow from seed either for market production or home gardens. Summer crisp lettuce is cool weather loving, however we have trial tested our selections for heat tolerance and rot resistance. You can harvest Batavia lettuce at any stage of maturity from baby greens to the fully mature bunched head. The lettuce heads can also be selectively harvested by removing a few of the outer leaves while leaving the main head to continue to grow and bunch to maturity. Select from a variety of delightful colors from the traditional green to deep red, bronze-purple and golden.
