Pennisetum villosum Feathertop is an ornamental grass that produces delightful, nodding, 6" inch woolly sprays that float above 20" to 24" inch plants with cascading blade-type leaves. The whimsical fuzzy blooms are a wonderful cut flower filler ingredient and can be used both fresh and dried as an everlasting. This prolific ornamental grass is a 'readily self-sows' seed, so grow it in an area where it can spread or in containers. To avoid colonization of an area, you will want to to cut off all the flower blooms before the seeds ripen in the fall. An ideal showy garden bed accent for a sunny location where textural interest and movement is desired. Tender perennial in zones 9–10, but grows as a hardy annual. Packet: 25 seeds.
