Pennisetum alopecuroides viridescens, commonly called Moudry Grass or Black Foxtail Fountain Grass, features striking, fuzzy, wheat colored bloom heads flushed with smoky, dark purple-black. Well formed 36" inch grass clumps have deep green blades that turn to golden-beige in the fall. This warm season ornamental bunch grass is a welcome addition to landscapes where textural interest is desired and can also be planted in containers as long as they are well watered. The bloom heads are a highly desired cut flower filler green and can be used both fresh and dried. Blooms start in mid-summer and persist through fall frost. This attractive perennial grass is hardy to zone 5. Packet: 25 seeds.
