Cortaderia selloana rosea, commonly known as Pink Feather Pampas Grass, is a majestic ornamental planting. It produces soaring stalks, averaging 6' to 10' feet tall, topped with swoon worthy, fluffy pink plumes blooming in early fall each year. Plants grow in clumps with blade-type leaves that grow 48" to 60" inches tall when fully mature. Excellent cut flower - fresh or dried! This coveted variety is awesome for cut flower growers looking to add something special to their offerings. This easy to grow, low maintenance variety is best treated as a tender perennial in zone 7, offering protection from the winter cold, and as a hardy perennial in zones 8-10. Pampas plants make an excellent, architecturally interesting garden screen and the leaves remain evergreen in warmer zones. Instead of cutting back the foliage each fall, wait until the following spring to prune back, this will spur on healthy new growth. Plants can resist momentary dryness, with the wind and cold, but the cold mixed with moisture can be fatal for this plant before it is fully mature and well established. Make sure to wear gloves and long sleeves when pruning and harvesting the plumes as the leaf blades can be quite sharp! UltraClean seed. Packet: 50 seeds.
