Amaranthus Green Tails is a dramatic garden favorite that features tassel rope-like strands of cascading flower clusters in a gorgeous, lively, lime-green shade. This textural beauty is a favorite of floral creatives for its cascading quality. Landscape artists appreciate its unique beauty and point of architectural focal interest in the garden. Originally documented in the late 1600's, then made popular in the Victorian Era, Green Tails has been a well loved garden favorite for literally centuries. This heat loving variety thrives in the baking sun of summer and notably, it remains color stable without fading when used fresh or dried. Plants grow 48" to 60" inches tall and the cascading flower tassels average 24" to 36" inches long. Amaranthus will grow faster and produce more flowers with regular watering, although it will tolerate some drought once established. Seed heads attract birds and will freely self sow if the ropes are left to bolt to seed. One of our favorite textural varieties, we highly recommend Green Tails for cut flower production to add visual interest to your offerings. Packet: 100 seeds.
